TuNA accountant attended 6 days training workshop

TuNA accountant attended 6 days training workshop on ESSF & ESMF in the SWIO countries from 11th to 16 th November 2024, at Radisson Blu Hotel at Madagascar.

KIWAWAMU and BMU, under the Tuna Fishery National

KIWAWAMU and BMU, under the Tuna Fishery National Alliance with the sponsorship of NO TAKA TANZANIA, have conducted special training on the impact of climate change and how to tackle the challenges arising from these changes.

Members of TuNA also had the opportunity to receive training on sustainable fishing to improve fishing activities and business, along with better fishing methods that do not harm the environment.

This two-day seminar brought together fishermen and traders from the Msasani market and aimed at providing education on proper and effective fishing techniques, as well as avoiding illegal fishing, which significantly contributes to environmental degradation and climate change. These trainings are expected to help promote and enhance the blue economy.

CSOs Platform in a significant move towards advancing Tanzania 's 2024 Blue Economy Policy, Tuna Fishery National Alliance and WWF have facilitated the finalization of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Platform about Blue Economy Agenda in the marine sector.
This platform guided by the government's Blue Economy Policy as presented by VPO, emphasizes sustainable resource management, community involvement, and environmental protection.
The CSOs aims to ensure that ocean resources are harnessed to boost economic growth while safeguarding marine ecosystems for future generations . #Tuna Alliance 💪

Tanzania Tuna Alliance Kwa kushirikiana na WWF wameandaa mkutano maalumu wa mafunzo yanayohusisha masuala ya ukusanyaji wa data za takwimu Kwa viumbe wa bahari kuu akiwemo samaki Jodari, papa, pamoja na wengine.
Mkutano ulianza septemba 09 na kutarajiwa kumalizika septemba 11, 2024 umekutanisha maafisa uvuvi kutoka sehemu mbalimbali nchini Bara na visiwani ambao umelenga kutoa mafunzo ya namna nzuri ya kufanya takwimu Kwa viumbe hao Ili kusaidia usimamizi mzuri wa samaki especially Samaki Tuna.
Mkutano umefanyika katika ukumbi wa South Beach Resort, Kigamboni, Dar es salaam.

The meeting focused on ensuring that financial resources are strategically invested in promoting sustainable fishing practices, marine conservation, and the development of the Blue Economy. By aligning their budgetary priorities, the alliance and WWF aim to protect Tanzania’s tuna fisheries, foster economic growth, and advance environmental stewardship.
